Apparently rumors about BBX announced at DevCon 2011 is correct. BlackBerry DevCon At this time, the side has officially launched its next generation smartphone platform called BBX. After 12 years of making OS-based phones BlackBerry, RIM seems ready to move forward to a new platform. BBX is built from the ground up, combining the best parts of the BlackBerry OS and QNX.

BBX will also support for applications built using tools available today for the manual (the original SDK, Adobe AIR / Flash, and applications for Android BlackBerry WebWorks/HTML5 Runtime). BBX will also show that the framework looks sweet UICascades shown for the first time today, and bring the “Super App” with deep integration between applications, the service is always Push, Social Platform for fuel and more.
In addition to launching BBX at DevCon, RIM also introduced a beta version of OS 2.0 developer guidelines. This means that the user guide is one step closer to getting major update for their tablets.
